Are you looking for an adventure at sea? Then you should try deep sea fishing on the Cape.  Climb on board with Yankee Deep Fish excursion.   There’s lots of fun to be had on a morning that you are fishing with the family and then you can cook the fish for dinner! Yummy

Yankee Deep sea fishing is located on the Saquatucket Harbor  in Harwich Port on Rt. 28 and you will be fishing in Nantucket sound.  Deep sea fishing is available for kids over age 4.    There are 2  four hour  sailings daily Monday through Satruday at 8am and 12:30pm. Sundays there is a fishing time at 10am. Reservations are recommended.

Here are some of the types of fish that you can catch while deep sea fishing

Blackfish
The Blackfish, or Tautog, is a fish of the wrasse family found in salt water from Nova Scotia to South Carolina. It lives along the bottom, in and amongst rocks, wrecks, mussel beds, bridge pilings or other bottom features.

Sea Bass
The black sea bass, also known as sea bass and blackfish, is a type of Grouper (Serranidae) found more commonly in northern than in southern ranges. Known as a bottom species, they are usually found around wrecks, reefs, piers, breakwaters, and over beds of shells, coral, rock, etc. The average sea bass weighs around 1 1/2 pounds with the largest recorded at 9 pounds 8 ounces. Any sea bass weighing 5 pounds or more is considered big.

Porgy
The porgy is an Atlantic fish found from New England through Florida and the Bahamas. There are 2 primary species known as the scup and the jolthead. The jolthead porgy is found further south than the scup porgy. The scup averages a couple of pounds while the jolthead porgy is bigger with some of these fish growing larger than 8 pounds.

Fluke / Flounder
The summer Flounder, or “Fluke,” is a flatfish found in coastal waters from the southern Gulf of Maine to Florida. Fluke can be found along the beaches, bays and tidal rivers and often fished fairly close to the shore
