Day 99 Tosca Opera at Cape Cod Community College in Barnstable
Opera New England of Cape Cod will be presenting the Giacomo Puccini’s opera masterpiece “Tosca” on Friday October 28th at the Tilden Arts Center at Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable.
The opera’s libretto is by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa based on “La Tosca” by Victorien Sardou. The drama follows residents of Rome in 1800 as they worry about Napoleon’s invasion of Italy. With scenes of murder, torture and suicide, “Tosca” tells of fervent love, duplicity and tragic death through grandiose, soul-stirring music.
