April school spring vacation is fast approaching! Here are some activities and events that will keep the kids busy on Cape Cod. Check back as additional activities will be added as we learn about them!
Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
From Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19 from 12:30-2:00 pm the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History will present the April School Vacation program – Shark Arts and Science. Shark Science will be at 12:30 pm and Shark Arts at 1 pm.
Join our scientists to learn real shark facts and information. Then create your own shark with local artists Leslie Kramer, Laura Abbady and Sally Tucker Levy, using a different medium each day.
The April School Vacation program is free with Museum admission. The Museum is opened 11-3pm each day.

Sculptural Sailboats with Andrew Lisle
April 15-19, 9:30-12:30pm
Ages 8+
Design and build your own sculptural sailboat using a variety of different materials! The emphasis is to introduce boatbuilding processes and practices, while at the same time having a lot of fun. At the end, each student will have completed a vessel that is unique, sculptural and solely powered by the wind.

Owls and other fun: There is plenty to do at Heritage Museums and Gardens during April school vacation. Check out the activities for families and kids including the very special Eyes on Owls presentations
Cape Cod National Seashore
On the lookout and more: The Cape Cod National Seashore has a lot of fun planned for families this April school vacation. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm, join a park ranger on the look out for whales, seals and shorebirds at Coast Guard Beach in Eastham. Wednesday is Junior Ranger Day! Don’t miss the fun activities at the Highland Center in North Truro. And the trails are open for exploring on your own. See the website for individual event listings.
Mass Audubon’s Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary Cummaquid
Cows and goats and woodcocks: During the week of April school vacation, Mass Audubon’s Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary is offering a variety of fun outdoor programs for the whole family. Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
Exploring from the inside out: During April school vacation, the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is offering a week-long drop off program for kids in three age groups: 5-6, 7-8 and 9-11. Kids will do crafts, explore, hike and more between 9am and 2:30pm. The theme is learning how things work and exploring from the inside out. Pre-registration is required. Cost: $20 per day for members; $25 per day for non-members. Register online here.
