Lighting of the Littlest Christmas Tree

5:00 PM – Family free event. Feel the magic of the Thornton Burgess story as the little tree in the pond lights up for the first time this season. Sponsored by the Sandwich Public Library and the Glass Town Cultural District.

First Church of Christ
Gather in Town Hall Square for a tree lighting and traditional carols led by Jim Ellis, the Festival Brass and the Mostly Dickens Carolers. After the singing, stroll down to the Dan’l Webster Inn for complimentary cider and cookies. Rain Date: Sunday December 7th.

Holly Days Home Tour: Noon – 4:00pm Experience Sandwich’s long history of community spirit, neighborhood charm and gracious homes. Celebrate the Holiday Season with us. ~ Tour historic B&Bs, Inns and private homes. Docents will be on site to present the history of the home, point out architectural details and unique furnishings. Some homes will feature decorations by local businesses. ~ See how our ancestors actually celebrated the Holiday in a first period home. ~ Interact with local artistans showing and selling their crafts ~ jewelry, painting, pottery, glass, fabric and more. ~ Meet and chat with Thornton Burgess at two of his childhood homes. ~ Hear your favorite Christmas Carols sung by the Cape Cod Chorale ‘Mostly Dickens Carolers’ as they stroll the Village. ~ Be the first to view 17th Century artifacts discovered at a Sandwich home ~ now an archaeological dig site.
