10 Top Seafood Restaurants on Cape Cod 2024
There are many excellent seafood restaurants on Cape Cod, but here are a few that consistently receive high praise from locals and visitors
The Lobster Pot: Located in Provincetown, The Lobster Pot has been serving up fresh seafood since 1979. They offer a wide variety of seafood dishes, including their famous lobster bisque and seafood platters.
Right on the water overlooking Provincentown Harbor – 2 floors – upstairs is more fun. Old model ships on the walls, etc. It’s a very busy place – when you walk in off the street you pass the lobby tanks and all the chefs prepping the meals. You can go high end here and order extravagant lobster dishes or just have a glass of wine and have appetizers. I’ve really never had anything poorly prepared here. And the service is very good. They are also good with kids. Do try the Oysters Rockefeller or the Clams Casino. Also the Lobster Newburg is really excellent.
The Ocean House Restaurant: This upscale special occasion restaurant in Dennis Port offers stunning views of Nantucket Sound and serves locally sourced seafood, such as oysters and lobster.
We had a family celebration When ordering we asked for her recommendations and her suggestions were DELICIOUS! We started with the fall salad which was huge! Easily enough for two people. I had the lamb lollipops – juicy and tender! We ordered the sea bass and it was outstanding but very big portion and none of us were able to finish it. At first we were not going to order dessert but then decided vacation was the perfect time to splurge! The ice cream is amazing but again huge portions. We shared two desserts included a brownie sundae.
The Naked Oyster Bistro and Raw Bar: This Hyannis restaurant is known for its fresh oysters and other raw bar offerings, as well as its creative seafood dishes like lobster risotto and scallop and bacon pizza.
Dinner kick off a week of vacation Cape Cod for my wife and me. What a wonderful start. The oysters were some of the best I’ve had. Briney and sweet. The smoked burrata appetizer was creamy and flavorful, and the lobster Orzo was unctuous! The very best part; however, was the fig martini. Never had one? Try it. It set the tone for this perfect meal that I’ll be chasing for a long time.
Mac’s Shack: Located in Wellfleet, Mac’s Shack is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. They offer a diverse menu of fresh seafood, including sushi and sashimi, as well as classic New England dishes like clam chowder and lobster rolls.
Arrived mid afternoon hungry. Ordered takeout. Waited quite awhile as they were busy. It was well worth the wait! Our lobster roll was expensive, but full of meat. We sat by the water and enjoyed.
The Black Cat Tavern: This waterfront restaurant in Hyannis offers stunning views of Hyannis Harbor and serves up classic seafood dishes like fish and chips and clam chowder, as well as more inventive dishes like lobster pot pie.
the place was great and had excellent service and was friendly. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were amazing. And the entrées were just, and we had the lobster rolls and fried seafood platter, and it was giant for sure! It was great spending the night there, and being next to the harbour to walk on afterwards was just calming.
Spanky’s Clam Shack & Seaside Saloon Hyannis – This is a popular spot for seafood, with a casual atmosphere and great views of Hyannis harbor. Spanky’s is an 10-time winner of the Best Seafood Restaurant award from Cape Cod Life Magazine. Spanky’s offers the freshest local seafood including New England style lobster dinners and delicately fried, baked or sauteed seafood entrees
Best lobster rolls! We have tried lobster rolls at every restaurant on this trip and Spanky’s is our favorite!! Also delicious clam strips, scallops and bang bang shrimp! The staff is super-friendly and service is excellent! Spanky’s Is definitely our go-to!!!!
The Port: The Port is a seafood restaurant located in Harwich Port that offers fresh seafood dishes, such as clam chowder, lobster rolls, and fried seafood platters.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Port. We started with a dozen raw oysters and the gnocchi with butternut squash and a sage butter sauce. They were both definitely worth having again. For dinner we ordered scallops risotto and the pan seared halibuts. Both were fantastic but the risotto had too much corn in it. Too full for dessert! We will be looking forward to dining here again.
Brax Landing in Harwich is a waterfront seafood restaurant located on Saquatucket Harbor that offers a variety of fresh seafood, including lobster, scallops, and clams.
Maybe the highlight of the summer vacation .What a great experience. Old school seafood menu…stuffed shrimp with Newburgh sauce, baked scrod. The broiled seafood platter was incredible.
And OMG what a view next to the Nantucket Ferry!! The food was amazing, super big portions (so look at what’s going by before you plunge in)friendly and efficient wait staff and reasonable pricing
Crabapples – This family-owned seafood market and restaurant in Falmouth is a great spot for fresh seafood, including clam chowder, fish tacos, and lobster rolls.
I had the haddock with a crap cake, asparagus with hollandaise sauce. It was excellent! On another day I had fish and chips. This too was excellent. We ate at several local places and Crabapples was our favorite hands down. We liked the chocolate cream pie so much that we had to have it after both meals. If I were a local, I would be a regular here. Highly recommended. My wife had Quiche, it was excellent. She had fried shrimp on our second visit that was excellent too
Fisherman view Sandwich A sea to table restaurant in Sandwich, MA. It features the brothers’ three core seafood products (lobsters, Jonah crab, and scallops) among other locally caught seafood, for both classic New England dishes and innovative seafood fare. The restaurant and market is surrounded by action, including views of the canal’s diverse vessel traffic,
Came on the recommendation of a friend. He certainly did not stare us wrong. Friday night, 45 minute wait to sit outside on the beautiful deck, so we opted for the lounge, still beautiful view of the canal. Waitresses were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and plenty on the menu to satisfy everyone. We had sushi and mussels as an appetizer, top grade sushi, mussels very tasty, albeit somewhat small…Entrees we went big, The Lobster and jonah crab bucket, and stuffed Haddock. The were both delicious and plentiful, no rush eating from the waitresses, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinners!!!Bravo!!
These are just a few of the many fantastic seafood restaurants on Cape Cod – no matter where you go, you’re sure to find delicious seafood and a warm New England welcome.
