Are you heading to Hyannis soon?
We’ve put together a list of some of the things to do, places to visit, and where to eat!
Ask any of our customers and they’ll tell you the heart of Pizza Barbone is the owner duo Jason and Ali O’Toole.
Before the couple called Cape Cod home, Chef Jason was part of the team at Le Cirque in New York City at a young age. He later completed his studies at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and worked with Chef Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s.
In 2010, Jason met Ali; his partner in love, life and pizza. Ali shared Jason’s passion for food and travel and set off starting Pizza Barbone’s traveling pizza oven catering business together right from the start. After finding much success with their mobile pizza oven, together Jason & Ali opened the Pizza Barbone restaurant on Main St. Hyannis, MA in 2012 where they have since enjoyed talking with as many of theirs guests as they can and looking forward to all of the years of Neapolitan pizzas they will be bringing to the visitors, residents and customers of Pizza Barbone with their awesome staff!

Delicious! Friendly staff, amazing pizza, and great fried mozzarella. So good!
A perfect pizza! We ordered gluten free crust on one and regular on the other. As they recommend, we ordered par baked and it worked out great. We warmed the pizza when we got home and added the ingredients they provided. The gluten free crust was excellent. Pistachio pesto and sweet sausage. Both highly recommend.
Decent pizza places can seem hard to come by on the Cape, if you’re not a fan of the particular style that’s so prevalent here. So it’s nice to have an option like Pizza Barbone, where while it’s certainly not your traditional pizza by the slice place, you’ll find a selection of artisan pies & other options. I’ve been there twice in recent memory & would recommend either their pepperoni & hot honey or crushed potato pizza They have a handful of salad choices & one or two desserts worth trying as well.
YUM! I did not know good pizza existed in Cape Cod. Then lo & behold: Pizza Barbone is recommended by a friend .thank goodness for that. The pizza is unique and delicious with the best crust I’ve had in a while. I was so excited to try their hot honey pepperoni pie and it did not disappoint. Sweet, salty, a little spicy, and overall completely not what I was expecting (in a good way). My taste buds enjoyed that one for sure. Even their plain cheese pizza blew me away. Solid drink menu as well
Wowzers, this is some good pizza ! We took to local internet to research pizza places in the Cape as we wanted to enjoy a good pizza before the concert we planned to attend. The reviews were excellent and the photos were enough to persuade us in Barbone’s direction. I was torn between the sausage and pepperoni pies because both sounded and looked superb. I asked the cashier for her recommendation and she said the sweet and salty combination of the pepperoni and honey pie made it the winning choice. I admit I was extremely hesitant to try pizza with honey, but I’m here to tell you… do NOT sleep on honey! This drizzled pleasure on a pepperoni pie makes it all the more delightful. Don’t judge, but I consumed the entire pie. Yup, I sure did and there wasn’t one bad bite!
The beer selection was good and I opted for the Allagash White which didn’t disappoint. In fact, I had two and this brew paired well with my pie. My friends enjoyed a cheese pie and meatball appetizer. To top off a fantastic meal, we even had an opportunity to see the artist we were going to see perform that evening. It was definitely a great night in the Cape and specifically at Pizza Barbone.
Enjoyed this place from the moment we stepped in from the rain. Big smiles and very friendly. We all enjoyed our food. Shredded mozzarella is what kiddos likely would like. The pistachio pesto was rich in flavor but oh so good. Bianca verde was perfect as offered different flavors with every bite and yet was not too strong.
The staff at Pizza Barbone are always friendly and accommodating. The food is consistently delicious, thus I always stop when I’m in town. The restaurant offers a gluten free crust and dairy free cheese, both made in house and both outstanding. On this visit I ordered the gf, df pie with the pepperoni and honey. O.M.G. SO yummy! I also had the small side salad which was fresh and tasty. My friend ordered the summer salad special which included burrata cheese with peaches, corn and grapes (I think) with a balsamic reduction over greens. The smile was from ear to ear as my friend enjoyed every bite. You can dine in or out, your choice.
This is some of my favorite pizza. The dough is so stretchy and chewy that I think they put bubble gum in it. No, not really, but it is good. I wish it transported better so that I could have the same experience with takeout, but it’s best eaten right when it comes out of the oven. I wish they would serve their wine in real wine glasses instead of water glasses, but I think they’re trying to impart an Italian touch. They usually have some interesting items on their daily menu too.
