Sandwich, MA is the oldest town on Cape Cod. It’s the second town you’ll encounter on Route 6 east and is where you can find the Sandwich Glass Factory. The town also has several bed and breakfasts, and a great view of the salt marsh along Old King’s Highway, Route 6A.
Favorite Sandwich Beaches for your Family Cape Cod Vacation
East Sandwich Beach on North Shore Boulevard has a wonderfully long stretch of sand and is bordered by grassy dunes. There is a great view of Cape Cod Bay. The waves are small and the water clear making it a great spot for swimming and with its soft sand it is also a great spot for sunbathing
Horizons Beach Overlooking the entrance to the Cape Cod Canal, Horizons Beach is a large beach with lots of room to move around. The sand is not as soft as other beaches, but still comfortable to to walk, run and play in. Parking is available for a daily fee.
Town Neck Beach It is .4 miles long and stretches from the end of Town Neck Road , by the East end of the Cape Cod Canal jetty to Wood Avenue. It is best known as the beach that connects to the beautiful Sandwich Boardwalk.

Sandwich Glass Museum – come and see and shop glassblowing throughout the day. Sandwich Glass Museum combines classic exhibits of its extensive collection with state-of-the-art technology used to bring many of the new installations to life.
Heritage Museum and Garden – located on 100 acres of magnificent grounds and trails o the gardens feature internationally important collections of rhododendrons, comprehensive collections of hydrangeas, a collection of over 1,000 varieties of daylilies, hostas, herbs, heather gardens, and more than a thousand varieties of trees, shrubs, and flowers along beautiful and easily walked paths. Heritage also offers three gallery buildings housing permanent exhibits of world-class automobiles, a working vintage carousel, American folk art, and featured special exhibitions.

Hoxie House is believed to be the oldest home on Cape Cod, and it reflects what life was like in Sandwich in the 17th century. Inside the home, you’ll find a variety of artifacts from the era in which it was built. You can also explore the exterior of the home and enjoy idyllic views of Shawme Pond. You’ll be fascinated with the home’s unique features and interesting history!
