Hyannis Village Christmas Stroll and Holiday Events 2017

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday’s events kick off with a 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. seating with the family favorite “Breakfast with Santa” at the British Beer Company. Tickets are available at the British Beer Company and at the Hyannis Chamber of Commerce for $8.00 each and must be purchased in advance. Breakfast with Santa is sponsored by the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce.

Ice Skating and Ice Sculpting

A very exciting addition to this year’s stroll is the “Little Lorusso Skating Rink”!  Lace up your own skates or choose from the collection of (free) loaners and experience outdoor skating on the Street!  Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa in “The Daily Paper” warming house; an inflatable structure serving up both goodies and warmth!

Watch as a local artist, “Chip” carves ice sculptures at the JFK Hyannis Museum, take a break and listen as members of the Hyannis Rotary Club read Christmas stories, watch a candy cane demonstration and write letters to Santa at Kandy Korner!  Listen to the sounds of Sturgis Charter School’s “Jam Band” who will be performing electronic/rock versions of Christmas classics.

Santa Meet & Greets on Main Street

Santa will be arriving at noon by antique fire truck in front of Rockland Trust and Bella of Cape Cod. Santa will be meeting & greeting children outside Bella of Cape Cod until 1pm before heading over to Katie’s Ice Cream from 1:30pm- 2:30pm for another meet and greet session.

There will be a variety of free activities throughout the day including the annual Cookie Stroll Contest in which visitors can vote for their favorite cookie from participating businesses and Santa’s Reindeer Roundup, a scavenger hunt to find all of Santa’s hidden reindeer with prizes for participants. Cranberry Shores Carolers and a new addition this year is Centertonix, an a cappella group from Cotuit Center for the Arts, will be singing throughout the street & there will be food sampling from various restaurants. Face painting, plenty of children’s arts & crafts activities throughout the street and Trolley rides will be offered to take visitors around the downtown.

Enjoy the fun custom wreaths on the street poles along Main Street that have been designed by the talented children of the Barnstable High School special needs program.

Santa’s Boat Parade

Santa’s Boat Parade will immediately follow the stroll. Beginning at 3:15 PM, there will be chowder, hot chocolate, coffee and cookies for sale, holiday music by Cool 102, and children’s arts and crafts at the harbor. At 4:30p.m., weather permitting, everyone will gather at Bismore Park at the docks to enjoy the beautifully decorated boat parade. See the boats enter the harbor as harbor businesses and homes light up to welcome Santa. There will be free parking near Bismore Park, plus food, drinks and music. At 5:00 Santa will arrive by boat and make his way to the Visitor Center where he will meet & greet children. Winners of the Best Decorated Boat will be announced at 5:30 PM. If there is inclement weather, check the BID Facebook page for updates on the boat parade.
