Centerville Old Home Week 2021
Old Home Week has returned to Centerville with all your old favorite activities and a few new ones thrown in.
Monday – Picnic in the Park at Mother’s Park 5pm
Pack a picnic dinner and head over to Mother’s Park for some old fashioned fun and games. With a focus on kids, there will be yoga in the park, (www.centervilleyoga.com) story telling, (https://www.centervillelibrary.org) face painting, bubbles, Hula Hoops, and Kindness Rocks to personalize. Kids of all ages are welcome to join us for this free activity.
Tuesday – Strawberry Shortcake Social and Annual Meeting
All are invited to attend the annual meeting of the Centerville Civic Association to celebrate the village of Centerville.
The Strawberry Social will be held from 6:00pm-7:00pm followed by the Annual Meeting.
Following brief remarks by Association President, Aaron Webb, that will include a brief award ceremony, Town Manager, Mark Ells and Town Engineer, Griffin Beaudoin, will provide updates on wastewater management and the Vineyard Wind project
Wednesday – Hyannis Sound at South Congregational Church
The Hyannis Sound, (www.hyannissound.org) a ten member, male, acapella group has been a Cape Cod tradition for over 25 years.
Each summer, a new group of 10 college age men come together under the guidance of the Music Director and Business Manager and bring their unique sound to public and private events across the Cape.
The Centerville Civic Association is pleased to welcome them back to Old Home Week in 2021
Thursday – 5K Run and Walk
On August 12, 2021 for the Old Home Week 5K, along with benefitting CHIPS House, we are putting the event on in Memoriam of Bill Dalrymple. Bill was one of the most dedicated, kindest, friendliest individuals and race walkers. Bill passed away due to Covid 19 earlier this year. We are doing the memoriam in conjunction with Hanlon Shoes, Cape Cod Athletic Club, and Chips House. Please join us in honoring Bill. Mrs. Dalrymple will be the official starter of the race. Friday – “The History of Centerville” at Centerville Historical Museum
Saturday – Antique and Vintage Car Show at the Centerville Historical Museum
The Centerville Historical Museum invites EVERYONE to join them for their first annual Antique Car Show. From the grounds of the museum to the parking lots of the Rec Center, it will be cars, cars and more cars. Over 25 antique and vintage cars are expected to participate. Bring your kids, tell your neighbors, and make sure you don’t miss this exciting free event
