Taylor Bray Farm in Yarmouthport MA 2024

Sharing is caring!

The Taylor Bray Farm is located in Yarmouthport and is open to the public!  In 1639, the farm was founded by Richard “of the rock” Taylor while the land was still part of the historic  Plymouth colony. It remained in the Taylor family for many years until 1896, when the Bray brothers, who both worked on the farm for the Taylors, purchased the property.  In 1987 the farm was purchased by the town.  It is now run by the collaborative efforts of several preservation groups.  Today, the smaller 22 acre property is a working farm.  It has donkeys, goats, cattle, sheep and chickens.  Visit with the farm’s sheep, cows, chickens and donkeys.

The farm is open daily,  dawn to dusk
There are no fees at the farm but your donations would be greatly appreciated.

Upcoming Special Events

Spring Sheep Festival

June’s beautiful weather plus the farm’s biggest event of the year, attracts a huge crowd. Our sheep are sheared and a demonstration of sheep herding by well trained dogs is presented. Local craftspeople show off their  wool dying, spinning and weaving techniques. A variety of wool products are on sale.

Kids – and parents and grandparents too – love seeing the new lambs with the other animals. Everybody enjoys hayrides along the Don McIntyre Trail through the woods.

The silent auction to raise money for the care of the animals and maintenance of the farm has a fascinating array of items donated by our supporters. If your bid doesn’t earn you what you wanted, you can stock up on Taylor-Bray hats, tee-shirts and activity books.

Fall Festival

Join us for a FUN filled day at the farm for our annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 12th from 10am – 4pm. (Raindate: Sunday October 13) Hope to see you there!!

This festival takes advantage of the Cape’s wonderful early fall weather. Come for hay-wagon rides along the Don McIntyre Trail and  old time games for the kids.

Pumpkins, gourds, calendars as well as Taylor-Bray Farm T-shirts, hats, activity books and crafts are on sale. Enjoy hot dogs, apple cider, cider donut holes and other treats.

Visit with the animals. There are Nester and Sam, our miniature donkeys,  George and Henry, our Nubian goats, Chloe, our Scotish Highland cow and of course, the sheep and chickens.

Holiday Festival

Start the Holiday season with a visit to Taylor-Bray Farm. During the festival the barn is filled with delicious homemade baked goods, wreaths, swags, centerpieces and other crafts, all made by farm volunteers. Taylor-Bray Farm calendars, activity books, t-shirts and grocery bags are available.

On the grounds you can purchase a beautiful Christmas tree – many sizes to choose from – and take a tractor drawn hayride, using our “new” 1952 John Deere MT tractor, weather permitting. While you are at the farm, be sure to visit the animals.
