Annie the Musical Play at Cotuit Center for the Arts
Cotuit Center for the Arts will be performing the 1977Broadway musical comedy, “Annie,” November 20 through December 21. Performances are Thursday and Friday at 7 PM, Saturday at 5 PM and Sunday at 2 PM. There is no performance on Thursday, November 27, Thanksgiving. It is a great play to bring the kids.
One of the world’s best-loved musicals, “Annie” tells the timeless story of a spunky 11-year-old orphan whose positive outlook on life affects all around her. The show features a cast of nearly 30 heroes, villains, politicians, and adorable orphans; warm-hearted humor and physical comedy; creative choreography; and great songs like “It’s a Hard-Knock Life,” “Little Girls,” “You’re Never Fully Dressed without a Smile,” and, of course, “Tomorrow.”
The show is set in 1933, during the Great Depression, and Franklin Roosevelt has not yet figured out how to get us back on the right track. It’s the spirit of this little girl singing ‘The sun will come out tomorrow’ that gives him the whole idea of the New Deal. And that wonderful, can-do idea is something I want the audience to walk out with.
Tickets are $28, $25 for seniors, $23 for members, and $15 for students.
