The Cape Playhouse is the place to be on Thursday and Friday mornings this summer. Discover the magic and wonder of live theatre designed especially for children Featuring endlessly entertaining acts from magicians and singers to jugglers, bubblemakers and beyond, Cape Playhouse Kids will keep your kids on a roller coaster of fun and laughs that’ll last the entire summer. This year’s performances include dazzling juggling and jokes from comedy duo The Gizmo Guys, sing-alongs with SteveSongs (PBS Kids) and the Princess and the Pea staged as a swashbuckling adventure with pirates. Professor Hackensneeze also makes his way from Hogwarts to teach aspiring witches and wizards with the hilarious and zany Wizard Training Academy, and there’s much more.

Friday, July 17:  Robin Hood by Hampstead Stage Company
Performed by Hampstead Stage Company. “Fighting against the evils of King John, we follow Robin Hood as he leaps from one adventure to the next collecting his Merrie Men along the way”. See brave heroes, hilarious villains, and bungling henchmen in this action packed show!

Friday, July 24:  Wizard Training Academy by David Engel
Bumbling Professor Hackensneeze makes a visit from Hogwarts Academy to teach kids and their parental Muggles the secrets of their magical powers. This loony Professor of Wizardry leads children on a zany and mystical day-in-the-life of a Wizard In Training (WIT). Ages 4+

Thurs, July 30:  The Pirate, the Princess and the Pea by Crabgrass Puppet Theatre
A swashbuckling adventure about friendship and cooperation! Take one bumbling buccaneer. Add one problem-solving princess. Throw in a stack of mattresses with a pea on the bottom, and put the pirate on top. Season liberally with sharks, sea monsters, and side-splitting action and you have the recipe for one hilarious adventure on the high seas.

Friday, July 31: Judy Pancoast – Pop Music for Sweet Kids
Grammy nominee for Best Children’s Musical Album, Judy Pancoast is joined with teen dance troupe, The Judy Crew for a lively musical experience that totally involves the audience!

Come join this international juggling champion and talented entertainer for juggling and comedy that involves the audience. Great for all ages!

Thurs, Aug 13: SteveSongs by Steve Roslonek
SteveSongs, known and loved by millions of PBS KIDS viewers throughout the country as “Mr. Steve”, co-host of the PBS KIDS preschool destination (nominated for a KidScreen best children’s television host award), will bring his signature brand of seriously fun (and seriously good) music to The Cape Playhouse. Steve will be joined by Christopher Listorti on keyboard, guitar and vocals. Playing some favorites from PBS KIDS as well as well as songs from his newest album “Orangutan Van”, the event is sure to wow the whole family! Steven’s songs have won numerous awards (2 Parents’ Choice Gold, NAPPA Honors, and many more) and have four times reached #1 Sirius/XM Kids Place Live’s top 13. But you haven’t heard anything until you see him perform live. And here’s your chance!
