This casual but elegant Massachusetts bed and breakfast is located in Cape Cod’s oldest and most quaint seaside village.

Built in 1750, it is one of the oldest historic homes that operates as a Cape Cod B&B. It is the perfect place for relaxing and renewing retreats or Cape Cod romantic getaways.

Listed on the National Registry of Historical Places, the Inn stands in Town Hall Square in the heart of Sandwich Village. The home was built by one of the town’s founding fathers, Jonathan Bassett, whose only daughter, Deliverance, was married to Elisha Hall in 1768. It remained in the Hall family until 1929. Hall family members participated in, and contributed to, the growth of Sandwich. They watched the ups and downs of the community from before the Revolutionary War until the Great Depression.

The Inn has five beautifully restored, pristine guest rooms with private en-suite baths. Each is uniquely decorated to evoke the ambiance of a seaside cottage while maintaining the architectural and historical character of this lovely home.

Guests are invited to relax in the Inn’s parlor where they can enjoy the company of other guests or sip a glass of wine and read a good book. If you didn’t bring a book, you are welcome to borrow one from the Inn’s collection. Be sure to ask the Innkeepers about the book exchange.

The Inn’s Keeping Room is where guests gather in the morning for a hearty and delicious gourmet breakfast to start their day. On chilly fall and winter mornings, you will enjoy dining by the warmth of the fire in the fireplace where all of the meals were once prepared. The fireplace is built of handmade bricks and contains the original beehive oven. Ask Charlie to give you a look inside. He will even explain how the oven was used in Colonial times.
