Cape Cod Parent Resource Fair Barnstable 2020

The 3rd Annual Cape Cod Parent Resource Fair to be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 9am to 1pm in the Café at Cape Cod Community College in Barnstable You will be able to connect with local family friendly nonprofits, resources, and businesses that are dedicated to helping families in our community grow and prosper.

Adult Admission is $2 per person; Kids (under 17) are FREE. Admission will include entry for swag bag door prize as well as 10 additional tickets to enter any of the vendor giveaways during the event. Tickets are also available via participating vendors.

Navigating Grief with Your Family & Children” with Amy Wyman, Good Grief Cape Cod Time: 9:30am Amy will share advice and tips on how to navigate grief together as a family. Grief comes in many forms whether through the loss of a parent, sibling, family members, pets and neighbors. Grief can impact children in many ways. Come learn about the resources available in our community and information to help your family through the process.

Books Build Conversations: Family Story Time” with
Sara Hines, Eight Cousins Bookstore
Time: 11:00am

Family story time engages young learners and helps
develop communication skills, including literacy, social/emotional, empathy, and critical thinking. By modeling story time opportunities, this interactive workshop uses Bear Snores On to highlight the wide
ranging impact that sharing stories has for children

“Family Design – A Family Approach to Happiness, Health and Success” with Tracy Lamperti, Lamperti Counseling & Consultation Time: 11:00 am Tracy Lamperti is the owner of Lamperti Counseling & Consultation (est. 1998) and creator of the “Family Design – A Family Approach to Happiness, Health and Success.” Tracy has extensive professional experience with couples and families and is honored to return for her third appearance at the Cape Cod Moms Annual Parenting Resource Fair. Tracy is married and she and her husband David have a 19 year old son and 14 year old daughter and reside on beautiful Cape Cod.

“Empowering Children About Body Safety” with Jacob Stapledon, Children’s Cove Time: 12:15pm Jacob will hold a workshop for parents in how to talk to kids in age appropriate ways about body safety. This workshop will be designed to help parents feel more confident in having conversations with children to empower them to be more confident in using correct terms for their bodies, be their own advocates, and how to ask for help if something makes them uncomfortable. We have had many requests for us to compile a listing of locations on Cape Cod that we recommend for hosting a party.
