Here are the reviews
Dinner with friends last night started with excellent drinks prepared by our favorite bar server Kara Finley. Dinner was outstanding and Larry our server was the best! Thank you Kara for dessert selections….excellent!
Outdoor dining in greenhouse was fantastic. Swordfish was outstanding and they even had gluten free bread while waiting for our meal. What a treat. Steak was equally delicious. One of my favorite places to eat on Cape Cod!
Excellent Service, food is always delicious and consistent…very nice ambiance..a must if down the Cape and looking to go out to dinner.
Fantastic meal the other night at the Scargo cafe. Had to wait 50
Minutes for dinner but well worth the wait. From the servers to the host everyone there is extremely friendly. The food is fantastic and innovative. If you are in the Cape make sure you make a stop for dinner here one night!
Scargo never disappoints! From the friendly service to the delicious food. A must for lunch and or dinner!
This is a cape trip staple for us. They have redesigned beautifully after covid with a great, safe bar seating and outdoor area on the patio. In the cooler weather they had little greenhouses which was cute and offered a fun dining experience. Highly recommend their cocktails and apps. Open year round on the cape, which is an impressive feat.
Scargo Cafe has been our go-to restaurant since I moved to the Cape almost 20 years ago. Food is always delicious and their desserts are the best anywhere. Never, ever a bad meal. Staff is always friendly and top-notch. Owners are great especially David who is always on the property making sure everyone’s needs are tended to. Can’t say enough good about the restaurant. Highly recommend for atmosphere, whether you are inside, on the porch, on the outside patio, or in a pod during the winter if you choose. You will not be disappointed with your experience.
finally tried Scargo cafe in Dennis after seeing all of the great reviews ..and it was every bit as good as he says! appetizers were a shrimp martini..and two perfect arugula salads with apples, cheddar cheese, walnuts and a mustard vinaigrette-fresh, light and the perfect starters! I had the pictured short ribs with maque choux mashed potatoes (corn, bell peppers, onion, garlic and spices) so delicious! ribs were fall apart tender and the potatoes were a perfect compliment. best friend had the swordfish with coconut jasmine rice and spinach, and her hubby had the pasta bolognese-rave reviews all around! service was spot on and the restaurant is beautiful. I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes-everything really looked great!
The lady friend went with a favorite of hers at Scargo, the Tuna Martini (Sashimi Tuna in a honey soy marinade, seaweed salad, sesame seeds, ginger, sriracha and wasabi cream sauce, $17). Several times the lady said, “This is so good”. She loved the combination of flavors in this dish. She always says Scargo has the freshest and best fish dishes around. I saw a new offering on the main menu that sounded good so I ordered the Bacon Jam Sirloin (Grilled, topped with bacon onion jam, accompanied by grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes, $30). I ordered the steak medium-rare and it was grilled to perfection (see photo). It was such a fine cut of beef that was juicy, tender and delicious. The bacon jam added an interesting flavor accent that was enjoyed. The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth. Scargo always has the best mashed potatoes. The asparagus was prepared properly and very tasty. As you can probably tell, I enjoyed my choice of dinners. Another great dining experience at the Scargo Café! This popular eatery offers many great dinners which keeps their customers coming back again and again. The bride especially loves the various fish offerings which are always so fresh and so good. I’m not a fish eater so I have a tendency to favor meat offerings.
Jim and I had a late lunch/ early dinner at Scargo Cafe yesterday, on Dennis MA. . We always try to go there when in town. We chose indoor dining, yet we saw a lovely outside dining area with heaters. Most outside patrons, though, had their coats on. We prefer to have our food hot for a while. In saying this, the dining area separated the customers quite well from one another. . Jim had a beer and I had a wonderful raspberry martini. We both indulged in the thick seafood chowder with shrimp, scallops, fish, and salmon. It was delish! Jim’s entree was the special, Reuben sandwich, and he chose the coleslaw with it but he did have a choice of fries or sweet potato fries. The sauce was put on the side and he really liked it that way. The corn beef brisket was tender and tasty. I had the swordfish, with melted herb butter on the top. It came out hot, and was very tender and cooked perfectly. The bed of rice it was sitting on was cool. But other than that, it was a big hit. Though we were full, we had to order the grape nut custard pudding , which they are known for. We shared it and it was heavenly. Always save room for this dessert. It is a must. Ended with some coffee.
Stopped by Scargo Cafe in Dennis this afternoon. They were busy and we had a few minutes wait. Once seated our waiter brought over warm bread and butter with water. It was delicious.
He forgot to ask what we wanted to drink and went right to taking our order. We stopped him and ordered two drinks. My husband had a local brewed beer and I had a raspberry cosmo. Drinks were excellent.
We both had a cup of soup, chowder and pork and bean. Both came hot and was very good. I had the swordfish and my husband beef bolognese. My swordfish was excellent and the pasta dish was good. My husband said he has had better. We shared the grape nut custard pudding which they are known for. Almost forgot to take pictures, but remembered a few minutes into the meal.
We both enjoy stopping at Scargo Cafe when we are in the area and will return again in the future.
